If you haven't already, I highly recommend reading 'On the Grand Trunk Road' and 'Ghost Wars' by our man.

And you're absolutely right - he's one of the few American journalists that is balanced, thorough, and insightful (without being a sensationalist) with regards to South Asia.

I've read On the Grand Trunk Road recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ghost Wars is on my radar too, will get to it when I find the time.
